Jamall Franklin is a professional basketball player who was born on July 21, 1991, in San Diego, California. He attended high school at Serra High School and played college basketball at San Diego State University. Franklin was selected in the second round of the 2013 NBA draft by the Memphis Grizzlies.

Franklin had a successful college career at San Diego State, where he was named the Mountain West Conference Player of the Year in both his junior and senior years. He also led the Aztecs to two conference championships and two NCAA tournament appearances.
